Physical Education, Sport and the Outdoor Lifesport_1

Physical Education, sport and team games play an important part in the life of Grace Dieu and the school has an outstanding reputation for sporting achievement. Our excellent outdoor facilities, coupled with a first-class, modern sports hall, and indoor, heated swimming pool, provide ample opportunities for everyone, of whatever ability, to participate fully in the sporting traditions of the school. At the heart of our approach is a blend of high quality coaching and individual instruction. Children receive small group coaching in technique across a wide range of sporting activities.

Pupils play Rugby, Hockey, Football and Netball in winter, and in summer they take part in Cricket, Rounders and Athletics. Under 8, 9, 10 and 11 teams are run in these sports, many of which have enjoyed great success in recent years. Individuals have gone on to represent England at junior level in Cricket, Rugby, Tennis, Football, Rounders and Athletics. All children are taught to swim and all take Water Skills and Distance Badges. There are also opportunities to play Basketball and Handball, Tennis, Table Tennis, Badminton and Gymnastics. In addition, golf, Cross-Country, Forest School and Rambling take place around our beautiful grounds and through adjacent woodland.
