About Grace Dieu

About_us‘Grace Dieu – Space to Learn and Space to Grow’

A short history about Grace Dieu Manor School. The school was established in 1933 as an all-boys Preparatory School for Ratcliffe College.

Situated in 120 acres of beautiful grounds in the heart of the Leicestershire countryside, Grace Dieu Manor School has grown into a modern, co-educational, vibrant day school and nursery for children aged 0 – 11. It is a happy school where children are encouraged to work hard and play hard.

Each year, staff and parents take enormous pleasure from seeing pupils flourish as they steadily gain maturity and confidence in readiness for their transfer at the age of 11 to a broad range of outstanding senior schools including: Ratcliffe College as well as other local and national Independent Schools such as Loughborough Endowed Schools (LGS, LHS, OLCS), Dixie Grammar, Trent College etc.

In September 2016 we also opened Grace Dieu Day Nursery, an onsite provision for children from 12 weeks to 4 years. Grace Dieu is a special place within a tranquil and rural setting, a unique environment which allows pupils to enjoy their childhood years and develop a real sense of who they are in the world. The warm, family atmosphere is deeply rooted within our Christian values and traditions. Grace Dieu has always provided an excellent education for pupils and this will not change

Small class sizes and a stimulating curriculum ensures that the academic abilities of all our pupils are maximised. All our year groups have the opportunity to explore and use our grounds as part of their learning and development journey. Forest School is part of our curriculum and includes many diverse activities such as fishing, shrimping, den building, foraging, campfire cooking, storytelling and nature watching. We also have our own chickens and alpaca herd… The opportunities for outdoor fun and learning are boundless, and all help to develop pupils’ self-awareness, team spirit and leadership skills.

The care and personal development of our pupils has been, and always will be our highest priority. Staff ensure that each and every individual is cared for and their individual talents (academic, artistic and sporting) are nurtured and developed. Academic achievements are important to us and our KS 2 Results are well above the National Average. We ensure that we maintain good communication between parents and pupils and pride ourselves on the sense of community that thrives within the School.
